Hailey is disgusted, but Mr. Owen says he can tell how much she loves the house and is having difficulty making it on her own, so he has an offer for her she could stay as a permanent roommate, as long as she agrees to be a roommate with benefits. Despite Hailey's horror at the situation, her sense of self-preservation wins out.
